I really like this saying. Pretty much everyone who can afford the things they want and need, tends to take advantage of what they can afford. Instead, they should just be content with what they have. We are all guilty of this!

There's quite a number of Irish sayings related to roads and highways. I wouldn't say that this one has been mistranslated so much as adapted for usage in non-Gaelic toasts. One of my favorites is "May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand." Regardless, I never knew the Gaelic pronunciation until today, thank you for your contribution!
